Brazilian elections

The second round of Elections 2022 takes place on October 30 across the country. Brazilians and Brazilians will choose the president of the Republic for the next four years and, in 12 states, the occupant of the state government will also be elected. Voting is mandatory for those aged between 18 and 69 and optional for illiterate people, young people aged between 16 and 17 and those aged 70 or over.

How to vote at the electronic voting machine:

For the second round of the 2022 Elections, only two positions are up for grabs: governor or governor – in 12 Brazilian states – and president of the Republic. The options in the ballot box will be shown exactly in this order for the voter to choose where there is a second round for the governorship and direct for president in other locations. The voter and female voter must enter the number, check the name and photograph of the candidate or candidate and wait 1 second before confirming the vote.

In the first round, five positions were in dispute: federal deputy, state deputy (or district deputy, in the case of the DF), senator, governor and president of the Republic. 1,614 representatives have already been elected.

In the voting booth, the use of cell phone, photographic, filming or any other type that violates the confidentiality of the vote is not allowed. The voter must leave the equipment in a safe place, determined by the polling station, before voting.

This year, approximately 40% of polling stations will use the 2020 model ballot boxes. 225,000 units of the equipment were manufactured in Manaus (AM) and Ilhéus (BA). The new, more modern design brings a better battery and a faster processor than the previous model.
